UCLouvain is a multi-site university, located in Louvain-la-Neuve, Woluwe, Saint-Gilles and Mons, Tournai and Charleroi, where it develops both basic and applied research and works towards its objectives using its ties with the socio-economic sector.
The UCLouvain FUCaM Mons has developed its activities in Hainaut. It offers programmes in the areas of management, political science, public administration, humanities and communication.
The support for socio-economic players is fulfilled through applied research and service to society. It offers high-quality education while promoting professional integration and, for several decades now, has made it compulsory for the students to complete an internship as part of all the master's courses.
As a result of this internship, which is done during the second semester of the last year of the master's degree, the student gets to know not only the Belgian business sector, but also that of other countries.
As part of its strong focus on the business sector (thanks to partnerships and alumni), the UCLouvain FUCaM Mons works in collaboration with companies and organisations, including through professorships and Job Days, and contributes to the project with a large network of partners for placing interns and getting business involved in the activities.
Its Walloon-Flemish and Franco-Belgian institutional partnership is expressed through joint graduations (with KULAK), the joint supervision of theses (with COMUE), Erasmus Belgica exchanges (with UGent) and the organisation of joint Franco-Belgian symposiums, conferences or doctoral seminars. For several decades now, UCLouvain FUCaM Mons has been actively involved in Interreg projects related to language learning (Interreg III), professional integration, research and the highest standards of teaching (Interreg IV).
As a result of the PRODOC project, the UCL continued to consolidate its activities in favour of doctoral students, including special events to familiarise a wider audience with the business world (My thesis in 180 seconds) and build greater awareness about the expertise of doctors in the workplace .
This expertise is put to good use in this project, which brings together all the academic players of the region; it aims to facilitate the professional integration of undergraduate students into doctoral courses and facilitate the completion and generalisation of these practices among all the players in the region.
